Hello All,
Just a quick note on training.
We are a club, but we are a club whose basis is martial arts (or other performing arts). And based on that, we develop our proficiency in these arts by practicing, hence, why we have training sessions during the week.
Your instructors and coordinators take the time out of their busy schedule to come to the dojo and provide opportunities for you to learn and develop in that particular art.
In order for you to benefit from your instructors knowledge and to develop your skill in your chosen art, you need to attend the offered training sessions during the week. Grant it, sometimes things happen and you cannot make a particular training session. If this occurs, please respect your instructor/coordinator and let them know that you will not be making it to training.
On the other hand, the excuses to not go to training are many (e.g. not feeling 100%, rainy day, cold, don’t like so & so, grumpy, etc.), but remember, your goal is to learn this art and the majority of these excuses are nothing but a challenge to your goal, a challenge to be overcome, and the benefits to achieving your goal can be numerous and immeasurable.
Also, your fellow students rely on you to be present so that they can also develop their skills, for many arts rely on partner training and feedback to fully develop techniques. And, because everybody does the same technique slightly differently to others (even if trained by the same instructor), the more people there are during training, the more well rounded you become in your technique.
On another note, this club exists because of you. The instructors hold the sessions because of you. This is your club. Help it continue on into the future by attending your chosen art training sessions.
