Taiko!

Toowoomba Taiko is performing on Australia Day 2021 at 3.20pm.

Come on down to Toowoomba’s Civic Square to watch us do our thing with the fabulous drums gifted by our Sister City, Takatsuki, Japan!

This also means, we’re back practicing for 2021!

Everyone is welcome to join us on Thursdays from 6.30 - 8.00pm at Hear & Say, 295 Ruthven Street, Toowoomba City. No experience is required!

Please wear comfortable clothing and BYO water as we’ll work up a sweat!

Your first class is free and if you love what we do, sessions are $10 and paid via the USQ Martial Arts Club.

Taiko workshop: 7 March with Takatsuki Taiko

Exciting news!

Toowoomba's sister city in Japan, Takatsuki, is generously donating several Wadaikos (taiko drums) to Toowoomba, for use by our taiko group. 

We would like to invite people in Toowoomba region to participate in a Taiko workshop, followed by the Mayoral Reception, on Wednesday, 7th of March, from 9:30am to 13:30pm at the Empire church theatre.

Members of Takatsuki Taiko group will perform and also instruct in taiko drumming. All are welcome and it is free. 

Come feel the sound of wadaiko!

BBRD Toowoomba Taiko Beginners Workshop with Tokoton

• Date – 24th June (Sat)
• Time – 10am start (but Dojo will be open from 8:30am to set up drums)
• Venue – BBRD Dojo, (Mort Estate Activity Centre), Rosewood Street, Toowoomba
• Tokoton are a professional Brisbane-based Taiko group. 
• First up at 10am will be a Taiko performance by two of Tokoton's members, Chie and Steve, for 30 minutes, followed by workshop for beginners run by Chie for 75 minutes.

Cost will be $30 per person. Everyone is welcome! No previous experience is required.
